Role purpose
As a Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the business development team aimed at growing the wholesale bank note client portfolio.
Your mission will be to grow our business in new markets, or with new customers and suppliers by identifying, generating, and following up on new foreign exchange business opportunities across agreed vertical markets.
Key accountabilities
Responsible for the entire sales process, from lead generation and identification, through to commercial and contractual discussions, leading to successful onboarding and service launchObtain a detailed understanding of our FX service offering and how these add value to prospective new clients and customers. Matching our unrivalled service capabilities with prospective client’s requirements and in the process building great relationshipsWork with the Business Development Director to help create and execute the wholesale banknote business development strategyWork closely with internal teams that are SMEs in the market to help shape and ensure proposition, pricing and service capabilities are fit for purpose for the marketWork collaboratively with the product teams to identify new product and service developments and enhancements gained from market information and customer insightDeliver outstanding, best in class customer service, setting Travelex apart from competitorsRepresent Travelex at industry events, conferences and networking opportunitiesAchievement of agreed KPI’s and proof of concept criteria and measuresWork collaboratively in sharing best practice with Travelex Global heads and Senior Business Development managersCreate reporting suite including regular input into Travelex board packs and presentationsManage client relationships effectively using CRM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot orRole-specific experience and skills
Experience in the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing with proven experience in a B2B sales roleExceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to negotiate and close deals effectivelyStrong track record of outperformance relative to targeted KPIsStrong commercial acumen and ability to apply solid commercial judgmentThe ability to analyse issues, develop solutions and influence key decisionsAbility to balancing risk with rewardTrack record of large customer focussed sales in a finance environmentResults / target orientedResilient and fast paced: You have the ability to work within a fast-paced result driven sales environmentDriven to provide a great customer journey and nurture relationshipsStrong relationship building / development skills (internal and external)Credibility in senior management environmentsAbility to understand market trends, and use insight to inform actionCRM Proficiency, skilled in using CRM tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or similarMultilingual Skills desirable. Ability to communicate fluently in multiple languages, with a strong emphasis on English proficiencyPrior experience in the financial sector, particularly in engaging with banks and central banksGeneral experience and personal qualities
