Summary This role is focused on defining backend semiconductor equipment market segment business strategy and establishing execution plan. Drives solutions into global distribution channels to achieve revenue, margin and market share. Establishes life cycle product pricing strategy to maximize success. This role drives all applications work to ensure solution deployment and customer satisfaction. Principal Accountabilities: + Analyze backend semiconductor equipment markets to identify strategic growth opportunities, and drive penetration strategy. + Performs competitive analyses and establishes product pricing strategy. + Development of marketing collateral and deployment value proposition. + Prioritizes solutions for backend semiconductor equipment market with engineering and drives deployment. + Guides cross functional teams, including internal sales teams and distribution channels. + Manages segment to meet business objectives for revenue, margin and market share. + Identifies technical capabilities and prioritize solutions to address competitive weaknesses and gaps relative to customer requirements which impact business objective achievement. + Supports engineering product management to ensure customer requirements are understood. + Develops Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) which enable engineering definition and development of differentiated product solutions. + Establishes effective road maps with engineering and customers that meets ROI objectives. Principal Accountabilities (General Supervisory) + Performs supervisory functions for staff including performance appraisal input, establishing and implementing team/individual Critical Success Factors, including the measurement and documentation of the progress of each employee toward the established goals. + Implements cross-training activities and plans for employees under his/her direction with specific attention toward the development of a highly flexible work force. + Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work-related problems. + Performs other job-related duties as required. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study; MBA highly desirable. + 5+ years of individual contribution experience in electronics industry capital equipment marketing. + 1-3 years of relevant supervisory experience. + Sense of urgency and persistent drive for results. + Confidence with multi-level, direct and indirect global distribution channels + Excellent communication and leadership characteristics to engage effectively with global sales, engineering and applications teams. + Ability to make effective customer presentations + Industry product and process domain knowledge for specific market segment Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality + Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes. Physical Demands + Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis + Remaining stationary for extended periods, and needs to be mobile enough to navigate through work areas + Ability to travel to customer sites, trade shows or conferences; 20%+ expected (domestic and international) Universal Instruments is an EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled employer.
