Business Development Manager
Aplin is thrilled to collaborate with our client, a renowned Canadian leader in the fabrication industry, in their search for a Business Development Manager. This role, based in Edmonton, AB, will focus on building and nurturing key business relationships to identify and secure opportunities as well drive diversification and growth in new markets.

In this role you will take the lead on building and maintaining core key relationships, ensuring the company stays top of mind for major projects. While they are well-known in their core markets, they need someone to help secure new opportunities across Canada and globally.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attitude and character, excelling in relationship development for long-term, complex projects. Key to this role is the ability to build strong connections for long-term success and efficiency.

Established leader in Alberta.Positive work culture with low turnover and a team that values collaboration and long-term success.Strong competitive salary.4 weeks vacation, plus an extra week over Christmas.5% RRSP contribution.Excellent benefits.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary client liaison, overseeing relationships and collaborating closely with the estimating team, supporting engineers, project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.Monitor industry trends, provide insights to leadership, and develop an annual Marketing Plan aligned with company strategy.Maintain and build strong relationships with key clients, conduct regular visits, and gather feedback to identify new opportunities.Respond to vendor qualification requests, track outstanding quotes, and engage with clients throughout the sales process.Ensure website, social media, and promotional materials reflect the company’s corporate image and strategic goals.Identify and pursue new market opportunities, supporting business expansion beyond core industries.Represent the company at tradeshows, conferences, and industry events to enhance visibility and maintain its strong reputation.Participate in pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and risk analysis to ensure strategic decision-making.Act as a primary contact for client concerns during projects, ensuring timely communication and resolution.QualificationsA Business or Technical degree/diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.Training in contract management, including drafting contracts and understanding general terms and conditions.Strong organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Experience in facilitating meetings and delivering presentations.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to build effective relationships with both clients and employees.
