C.H. Robinson is seeking a Business Development Manager to help grow the Intermodal (IMDL) service line within our North American Surface Transportation division. As a Business Development Manager, you will serve as a consultant and subject matter expert, working with our sales organization to generate new business and retain existing business related IMDL services. Your ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, participate in strategic account discussions, and build out contract and pricing strategies will be essential as you generate leads and support the sales process. Responsibilities:Diagnose opportunities, qualify leads, and develop IMDL business opportunities alongside our internal sales executives
Sell and close opportunities in partnership with the office network
Market IMDL services to sales and account management teams through ongoing education
Drive growth and create demand, ensuring a robust pipeline of customer opportunities
Understand challenges and design solutions for short and long-term customer needs
Design and implement solutions, partnering with internal pricing teams to create pricing models and strategies
Refine marketing strategy based on network feedback and market trends
Build trusting relationships as an ambassador to internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with management to proactively identify and resolve issues
Provide industry feedback on trends, pressures, and competitive evaluation of key competitors
Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED
Minimum 4 years previous sales, operations and/or account management experience (Intermodal preferred)
Ability to travel 25%
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Tools
Proven ability to create and sell comprehensive solutions and service packages to all buying influences
Demonstrated influencing, negotiation, collaboration, communication and presentation skills
Proven track record of delivering measurable financial results through sales or account management solutions
Strong strategic orientation, relationship building, negotiation skills and business acumen
Strong technical understanding of C.H. Robinson, modes and services, and systems
Proven ability to develop proposal presentations in Word or PowerPoint
Proven examples of using Excel for analysis and modeling
