Business Development Manager - Nutraceuticals

We are looking for a competitive and dedicated consultative technical business development professional who likes to surpass goals and excel in a fast-paced environment. The role will focus on promoting the Nutraceutical ingredients cross-functionally across the East region of the USA.

 

What you’ll do

Initiate, develop and close new opportunities primarily working with customer R&D and business development teams.

Provide appropriate product recommendations, and formulation support to our customers.

Improve Univar Solutions' position within each account using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels.

Generate industry reports and make recommendations for corrective action, and actively assist in their implementation.

Stay ahead of product trends and industry development and actively grow the territory.

Work closely with the sales team to establish new businesses and support existing ones.

Actively promote product lines by frequently meeting customers in person and virtually.

Support customers during scale-up and technical transfer of projects.

Provide technical training on product lines both internally and externally.

Understand and interpret government and regulatory requirements in the industry.

Connect with other internal business units to support lead-generation programs that drive sales.

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategic national marketing campaigns.

Participate, network, and contribute to industry exhibition events and supplier training.}

 

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree (Food, Nutrition, or Life Science preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales or commercial position with a technical focus in the Nutraceuticals industry.

Strong technical knowledge in functional foods and nutraceutical formulations.

Solid understanding of the primary drivers of health & wellness at a national and global level.

Effective team leader and self-starter with an affinity to work in an innovative environment.

Excellent ability to understand, analyze and communicate complex scientific and technical information.

Be a visionary and bring creativity and innovation to the team, improve performance and spur change.

Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration

Experience and ease in navigating regulated markets.

Ability to develop and grow positive relationships with key customer contacts and suppliers.

 

Where you’ll work

This is a home-based opportunity. Preference for candidates located on the East Coast of the USA.
