Business Development Manager-Partnership Marketing

Summary:

 Why you’ll love this job: You will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy and execution for Sunoco’s Marketing partnerships, supporting the company’s fast growth and directly contributing to the company’s financial success.

The Business Development Manager of Partnership Marketing will report to the Director of Loyalty Marketing and be responsible for identifying and negotiating strategic relationships to grow Sunoco’s partnership portfolio, driving incremental gallons to Sunoco’s over 5,000 gas station locations. This high-impact role will work across functions and interact with customers, partners, and senior leaders within the organization. This role reports on-site at our Dallas, TX office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Prospect, evaluate and manage a pipeline of new opportunities to grow marketing partnerships. Evaluate new business relationships to ensure they are the appropriate strategic fit and model the financial impact. Develop creative solutions to identify new prospects and build a strong pipeline.

·         Manage strategic relationships with some of the company’s largest existing partners, including credit card portfolios (WEX, Citi), grocery partners, financial partners and loyalty partners. Identify further engagement opportunities to drive gallon growth and value for Sunoco customers. Set partner expectations and manage towards growth plans.

·         Clearly communicate and champion the value of partnering with Sunoco to successfully launch new partnerships. Assist in the negotiation and execution of contracts and oversee the onboarding of new partners, which includes collaboration with Account Management, Legal, Technology and Customer Support.

·         Report results on partner performance to executive management. Utilize data to inform decisions and make recommendations for future actions.

·         Oversee execution, tracking, measurement and ROI on partnership marketing efforts and campaigns.

·         Ability to champion the Sunoco brand and effectively communicate partnership value in prospecting conversations.

·         Demonstrated strategic thinker with the ability to support the development and execution of strategic plans that align to business objectives.

·         Ability to effectively work cross functionally with other departments and functions.

·         Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate across internal and external teams.

·         Strong analytical skills; including experience reviewing performance results and financial impacts.

·         Exceptional organizational and project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail.

·         Results oriented with a proven track record of leadership and taking ownership that produces exceptional results.

Education and/or Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field. Degree in other fields with demonstrated ability and experience also accepted.

·         Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

·         8 years of experience in a variety of roles including business development, sales, marketing, and/or partner management

·         Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint presentation development

·         Experience in retail fuel or CPG industry preferred

Working Conditions:

 The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Usually, normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel up to 10% may be required.
