Introduction to the team
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is an external sales position focused on selling services within our Technology Communications and Life Sciences industry group. Ideal candidates will be passionate about selling professional services and developing solutions to help clients achieve their goals. The BDM is responsible for developing relationships with prospects, clients and referral sources, originating new service opportunities, working with internal client service professionals and other business development professionals to win new work and achieving an annual sales quota. The BDM will build strong internal relationships with partners, senior managers and national and regional industry group leaders, working collaboratively to drive growth for the Firm. The BDM will apply sales and marketing experience and knowledge of the assigned markets to help office leadership develop strategic sales and marketing programs.

Responsibilities:

Increase Moss Adams awareness and generate new sales to target companiesAchieve specified annual sales goalsWork with partners, senior managers and managers on prospect pursuitsSupport assigned industry groups and become an acknowledged industry/sales expertWork with Business Development team in other regions to share best practices and drive salesWork with marketing resources to develop and leverage marketing campaigns, increase marketing ROI and improve client’s onboarding experienceAssists in preparing sales materials, proposals and prospect communications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience requiredMinimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in sales requiredDemonstrated success in selling professional services to businesses and excellent knowledge of the geographical marketStrong executive presence and demonstrated leadership skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels within the firmUnderstands the business issues associated with accounting, wealth management and/or professional services, strong ability to uncover needs and develop solutions to client issuesAbility to build and refine proposals to elicit true value of firm and principlesAbility to establish and cultivate long-term effective relationships with key internal and external relationshipsAbility to work independently to develop leads and work in teams to sell our servicesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint) and CRM softwareAbility to travel as needed, approximately 25%
