Business Development Sales Manager
Siemens Government Technologies is looking for a dynamic and driven Business Development Sales Manager who will serve as both a leader to a team of three business development professionals with a target of 100M/ year with significant upside potential. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in driving growth and capturing new business opportunities in the Infrastructure and Energy Solutions (I&ES) sector, primarily supporting Siemens Smart Infrastructure products to the US Government.
As the Sales Manager, you will develop and implement successful sales strategies, build strong relationships with customers, and lead your team to achieve targets and drive growth. You must have a proven track record of accountability, results orientation, and team leadership. Additionally, you must have the ability to create long-lasting relationships with clients, identify and capture business opportunities, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities: •Lead and manage a growing team of three sales managers to ensure effective sales execution resulting 100m + Order Entry and profitable revenue. •Demonstrate ability to grow pipeline and orders for an organization and track results within Salesforce• As a sales director you will report to the Head of I &ES•Key KPIs for success in this role include sales targets achieved, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.•Engage with primary accounts to gather business requirements and design solutions •Build strong, trusted advisor relationships with federal customers as well as internal sponsors and maintain a deep understanding of their needs and requirements•Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals •Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor intelligence•Develop account plans, forecast sales, manage pipeline to meet and exceed targets•Lead the sales team in developing new relationships and business opportunities•Lead presentations, demonstrations, proposals, and technology reviews •Deliver compelling customer experiences, manage customer technical queries, resolve pain points, issues and claims and communicate with internal/external teams •Drive repeat business with existing customers, assist in solution selection •Develop win strategy, price to win, and discriminators of opportunities•Identify and lead the capture and closure of business opportunities •Mentor and coach sales managers, monitor sales performance and implement improvements •Collaborate with other departments (e.g. marketing, product development) •Represent the company at industry events, trade shows •Conduct on-site assessments and provide customer feedback to organization Requirements: •Proven experience as a successful sales director, account manager or similar role•Proven success in winning work with US Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC or AFCEC•Experience with US Federal Government projects, contracts, policies, and procedures.•Understanding of U.S. Government Procurement Vehicles •Proficient in MS Office suite applications, Salesforce, and web or cloud-based software applications such as SharePoint.•Ability to hold self and team accountable and overcome obstacles •Demonstrated leadership skills in managing multiple projects with multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations and logistics •Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex issues and progress to executives and consulting with C-level clients•Strong relationship management, Ability to build alliances,•Excellent organizational skills, handle complex and politically charged issues, and negotiate deals with attention to detail•Knowledge of financial business models, contractual requirements and experience with U.S. Federal Government procurement (ID/IQs, GSA Schedules, etc.)•Familiarity with power distribution, electrical infrastructure, energy procurement, and energy related industries (automation, fire protection, solar and/or power generation) •Travel required 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:•10 years of experience in a corporate or government setting.•Master’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or other related field or equivalent work experience.•Experience in marketing, pricing, and managing energy, building control, fire alarm, electronic security, and electrical services projects through U.S. Government IDIQ or Multiple Award Type Contract vehicles.•Understanding of power distribution from the substation to building level and requirements for interconnection of generating assets.•Experience having worked in a matrixed organization.•Current possession of a U.S. Government issued security clearance.•Knowledge of U.S. commercial and Government standards, regulations, and codes (e.g., DoD Unified Facility Criteria, OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE, NIST, DoD, RMF, NERC CIP Cyber security, etc.)•Candidates with ability to work from remote location within the United States will be considered.
Security Requirements:•Candidate must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance

An annual incentive target also is part of the compensation package for this position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
