Receive direction and collaboration as needed to secure project work, and especially complex assignments, modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments. + Position does not currently include direct supervisory responsibilities but serves an experienced and learned professional contributing to critical business and operational needs. **At the Operational and Company Level** + Continually market the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships. **Do the Work** + Write, prepare, layout, and produce qualifications packages, proposals, presentation materials, award submissions, and competition entries. + Initiate conversations with potential clients in person or via phone and email outreach. + Perform regular follow-ups with existing clients to mine for new work. + Perform regular searches to identify new ways of reaching prospective clients. + Maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and follow up with regular outreach. + Perform in-depth assessments to investigate, uncover, and understand a client’s business issues and how Bowman can meet those needs. + Present proposed solutions and relate them to the client’s business issues and goals. + Perform analysis and lead discovery of adjacent opportunities. **Success Metrics and Competencies** + Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. + Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners. + Highly motivated and problem-solving attitude. + Strong sense of urgency in responding to clients and/or team members. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Strong work ethic and commitment to quality. + Self-reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction. + Strong marketing/business development skills and mindset. + Commitment to promoting the reputation of the company through quality of work. + Commitment to driving profitability and growth. + Effective working relationship with internal leaders and peers, as well as external clients. + Commitment to working in partnership with others inside and outside the organization. + Ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive tasks. + Focus on improving return on investment. + Data analysis and interpretation skills. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, architecture, or related industry required. + Five or more (5+) years of experience in a professional business development role. + Minimum three (3) years of practical experience in the AEC industry. + Minimum two (2) years of experience as a sales assistant, lead generator, or a direct sales role. + Professional registration (P.E, etc.) and industry accreditations (LEED AP) required. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (with strong InDesign experience). + Demonstrated layout and production skills. + Knowledge of HTML, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks is preferred. **Physical Demands and Working Environment** + May be eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangements. + Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. + Mobility around an office environment. + Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. + May require local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business. \#LI-SJ1 **Job Description Disclaimer** Note: While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the job requirements, it is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
