Location: Bremerton, Washington (Hybrid)

Type: Temporary, Full Time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift, 10 weeks, flexible internship start and end date, approximately May-September 2025

The Business Development Intern is a key contributor to change and growth within the Skookum business. Strong candidates will have a social entrepreneurial spirit, a deep curiosity on several business topics, and an interest in generating new business. Interns will gain valuable work experience in research, data management, and communication skills in a social enterprise setting while also having opportunities to establish professional mentor relationships. 

Generate and progress new business ideas and strategies that could lead to new revenue for the company.

Compile, analyze, and communicate industry pain points and emerging trends to map alternative solutions.

Prepare presentations and/or business plans to share knowledge and ideas with senior management.

Identify potential customers and/or customer profiles to build relationships in new industries.

Participate in Business Development (BD) meetings; actively engage in discussion.

Contribute to goal setting and impact monitoring in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.

Assist with summer events.

Maintain a professional, positive, and inclusive attitude.

Attend Intern team meetings and trainings.

Work on a collaborative intern cohort team project.

Other Duties as assigned.

Summary of Experience for the Skookum Benefits Intern:

Must be pursuing a degree in Business in Entrepreneurship or obtaining a specialization in entrepreneurship

A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Computer data management and word processing skills.

Ability to maintain a high standard of confidentiality, time management, organizational, and communication skills.

Valid state driver’s license is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.
