Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Business Excellence Project Engineer located in Columbia SC.

Reporting to the Sr. NPI Manager the Business Excellence Project Engineer involves continuously driving a culture of excellence in the organization. Enabling waste removal activities using lean and six sigma approaches and tools and guiding actions to a sustainable conclusion. Provides coordination of new product and EC introduction activities and support for ongoing manufacturing activities / problems related to specific products.

What a typical day looks like:

Promote Lean Enterprise Values to reduce waste and enhance sustainability.Implement Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) to streamline processes and cut costs.Develop best practices and conduct training to foster a Lean culture.Facilitate workshops and use data for cost savings.Achieve Lean and Six Sigma certifications for expertise.Assess product test results and coordinate with the Customer Focus Team on production issues.Effectively manage maintenance technicians across multiple shifts.Evaluate product specifications and collaborate with support teams to resolve issues.Oversee prototype manufacturing, analyze compliance data, and implement design changes.Focus on product development, problem-solving, and quality maintenance.Utilize mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field, military technical training or equivalent education and training. 6 years of related experience and/or trade knowledgeExperience with working on highly automated machinery and robotics.Communicate effectively with employees, manufacturing support, and peers.Possess strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing demands.Have a solid understanding and practical experience with PLC and automated systems, particularly in robotics, process, or material handling.
