Role Dimensions:

The Business Integrity program is an internal element of the company’s overall governance and risk management activity. The program is focused on bringing to life our overall performance ambition and must also meet, at a minimum, the best practice standards benchmarked against FCPA sentencing guidelines, or similar regulations across UK and the rest of Europe. This includes maintaining and embedding the code of business conduct (the code) and an appropriate framework of policies and standards that support the code; developing appropriate principled based engagement and risk based training to support application of the code and its policies; monitoring potential breaches and coordinating responses; assessing compliance risk and ensuring that employees are aware of our speak up whistleblowing channels and ensuring oversight and execution of the business integrity program at market level.

Ethical behavior is increasingly synonymous with a company’s overall sustainability and the potential breakdown of this whether legal, financial or reputational, could have serious consequences for Diageo.

You will act as business partner to your market leadership team to help them own, drive and manage their accountabilities related to ‘doing business in the right way’. You will act as second line of defense to your market, overseeing risk indicators and potential red flags, looking for insights and root causes for breaches and advise on / coordinate interventions to mitigate risks in your market.

Top Accountabilities:

Functional:

Act as trusted advisor across all levels of the organization to provide decision support on any controls, risk or compliance matters particularly related to North America Brand Homes or Visitor Centers.Coordinate compliance risk assessment process and monitor it for deficiencies in compliance related practices related to North America Brand Homes or Visitor Centers. Actively search for risks using internal and external data sources. Ensure mitigation plans are deployed. Use judgment and intervene to ensure course correction. Spot interdependencies and concentration of risks.Create and shape a market’s risk management culture in partnership with senior management team which includes building capabilities around controls and risk ownership and understanding to enable proactive risk identification, comprehensive assessments and management.Facilitate risk management activities such as the consolidation of KRIs, coordinate periodic governance forums (i.e. RMC) and supervise automatic monitoring / analytics to enable simplified and proactive management of risk.Be responsible for the CARM process integration for recent business acquisitions, by working with the leadership of the newly acquired entity and advise functional heads / control owners of control expectations in the event business processes are not immediately integrated.Developing appropriate training to support application of the Code, and policies in high risk areasLead investigations into allegations received that may be a breach of our Code, Policies or Standards

Experience:

+7 years of relevant experience in governance, risk management, audit, SOX controls, compliance and ethicsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailExceptional ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respectSuccessful management of senior partners at all levels and validated ability to hold others to account, resulting in strong and positive outcomesMust have demonstrated successful team management experienceAudit and controls experience in consulting/Big4s or similar confirmed experience is preferableStrong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and COSO framework is neededBusiness commercial competence & knowledge including proficiency in analytics tools such as Power BI
