Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Department Director, assists business partners with implementing and utilizing decision support and business intelligence (BI) software solutions to transform data into information in order to achieve clinical and business goals/objectives. This includes: (1) collaborating with functional users and other internal and external resources to gather data requirements to design, develop, enhance and support BI/Reporting applications (2) assisting with implementation of BI / Decision Support technologies and tools including system selection / evaluation, analysis / design, development / implementation, and ongoing support / maintenance (3) providing data reporting, extracting, management and actionable analytics solutions to assist with problem solving, decision making and strategic planning (4) promoting/ensuring system data integrity by applying technical knowledge to resolve system issues as well as identify enhancements to improve data quality, security and operational efficiencies. Maintains/promotes excellent communications and interpersonal relationships, serving as liaison between business units and IS assisting with report/data generation, visualization, analysis, interpretation and user training as required.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Statistics, Business or Health Care Administration, or a Related Field
Minimum Years of Experience: 3 Years of Programming, Data Analytics or Dashboard Development Experience;
3 Years of experience in Requirements Gathering, Data Analysis, Data Modeling, or Report/Dashboard Design/Development (may be included in above).
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree and the above experience, will consider those with the following combinations:
An Associate's Degree in a related field plus 5 Years of Programming, Data Analytics or Dashboard Development Experience which includes at least 3 Years of Experience in Requirements Gathering, Data Analysis, Data Modeling, or Report/Dashboard Design/Development;
A Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field plus 2 Years of Programming, Data Analytics or Dashboard Development Experience which includes at least 1 year of Experience in Requirements Gathering, Data Analysis, Data Modeling, or Report/Dashboard Design/Development.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Must be willing to obtain vendor EHR and/or other technical certifications as required by department leadership.
Required Training: Proficiency in using BI technologies/tools and Microsoft SQL reporting services or similar languages to develop BI solutions including data extracts, queries, reports, dashboards, and scorecards to meet end user requirements regarding access to system information;
Proven experience with relational database structures principles and practices including data modeling, quality assurance and governance;
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, experience working with directly with key operational personnel with ability to serve as an effective change agent/advocate;
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with ability to evaluate problems, identify and implement creative, innovative and effective solutions;
Excellent organizational skills with ability to coordinate concurrent projects and handle multiple priorities, ambiguity, continuous change and high-pressure situations. Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work;
Proficiency in PC productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Access, PowerPoint, etc.);
Experience and desire to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Able to establish effective interpersonal relationships.
