Position Summary:
The GBS Business Intelligence Analyst will play an integral role in driving performance analysis, analytics, dashboards and other BI activities throughout GBS Shared Services globally.
The individual will be a key member of a team responsible for supporting the needs of various teams globally and across different workstreams including OTC, RTR, PTP, Customer Care and others. The objective would be to prepare Thermo Fisher to successfully & efficiently scale up to the company’s 2030 vision of becoming a $50B revenue organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Support initiatives in performing data mining, transforming, loading, cleansing as well as analysis, manipulation and visualization.Identify vital data elements and their sources, applying appropriate tools and technologies to acquire and consolidate large volumes of data from different sources.Partner with internal customers across multiple workstreams to evaluate and delivering end to end solutions.Work with global Shared Services team to identify new BI capabilities and projects.Work independently, or with functional analysts, to build reports, data sets and mechanisms to provide access to business insights.Be accountable for the diagnosis and support of Power BI reporting solutions, including investigation of data issues, data validation, scalability, balancing and row level security implementationBuild and deliver standards on defining, crafting, and documenting reference Power BI architecture.Identify and provide input to new technology opportunities, including but not limited to regular Microsoft PBI releases, that will have a positive impact on improving the data visualization portfolio.Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.Background:
3+ years proven track record in Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics, preferably in the fields of finance and technology, including shared services or consulting positions.Bachelor's degree or certifications, in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, or a related work experience.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Fluent communication in EnglishExperience in leading and participating in distributed projects.Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, ETL concepts, Alteryx, and BI tools like Power BI.Expertise in crafting DAX queries in Power BI desktopExperience in Data Lake using AWS Databricks, Apache Spark & Python - Good to haveExperience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) - Nice to haveExperience in a Productivity & Performance Management role is helpful.Effective interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external leadership.Shown adaptability in dynamic and exciting environments.Collaborative mentality, working effectively with colleagues and partners.Proven relationship builder, able to operate within a multitude of formal and informal networks while handling the competing interests of multifaceted partners.Champions efficiency improvements through Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and has a dedication to continuous learning.Superb attention to detail required.Benefits:
