As a Business Intelligence Analyst for Caterpillar’s Resource Industries segment, you will evaluate economic, commercial and competitive data to provide insights to our senior leadership team. This is a visible role cutting across functions and business divisions and is critical to helping shape operational and strategic planning decisions. In Resource Industries, you’ll be supporting the largest machines at Caterpillar at a time when they’re on the front lines of critical topics – like electrification, autonomy and emissions control – that will help define the world of tomorrow.
What You Will Do:
Monitor and forecast commodity market trends and align with business unit leadership on impacts to product groupsPresent analysis and forecasts to management, business unit leaders and industry stakeholdersDrive insights to business partners through summarization and visualization of economic dataCoordinate business intelligence reports for senior leaders, focusing on market trends and customer/competitor activityAnalyze existing and emerging market trends across key commodity groups and provide guidance to long-term planning processesMaintain enterprise data repositories and lead data curation and digital transformation effortsMaintain and utilize networks of people and resources for obtaining competitive informationWhat You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in economics (or related field) Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholdersFinancial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical materialMarket Research: Knowledge of market research; ability to collect, collate and analyze information about existing or potential markets and market needsEffective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviorsInterpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative mannerTop Candidates Will Also Have:
Prior experience with commodity markets and mining, heavy construction or related industriesHigh levels of initiative, creativity, and interpersonal/communication skills to collaborate with a variety of audiences and management levelsAbility to speak technically when required but also clearly and concisely with non-financial audiencesAdvanced Excel skills and analytical modeling capabilities; ability to visualize data into cohesive presentationAdditional Info:

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
