Role Purpose

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, as an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst, is tasked with leveraging Shoprite's operational data to craft meaningful insights. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is an expert at transforming raw data into actionable insights. The incumbent will design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence solutions, working closely with stakeholders to ensure the delivered solutions align with organisational goals. The incumbent’s expertise in designing and implementing BI solutions is crucial for driving strategic initiatives, ensuring a customer-centric approach, and providing visibility across diverse business units.

Role Description

Business Relationship Management:

· Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to implement processes for data accuracy and quality control.

· Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams to integrate BI solutions seamlessly.

· Insight Communication: Effectively communicate BI analysis insights to stakeholders.

Solution Development:

· BI Solution Design: Lead the development of advanced BI solutions, including data models, dashboards, and reports.

· Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to the BI Development Team, promoting expertise and innovation.

· Technology Implementation: Develop BI solutions using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar technologies.

· Workstream Planning: Participate in planning from inception to BI solution delivery.

Service Delivery:

· Performance Optimization: Conduct performance analyses and optimize ETL processes, datasets, and reports.

· Documentation: Document BI solutions and maintain records of technical specifications and requirements for future.

· Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, system analysis, mathematics, or related field.

· Advanced degree in Analytics/Science/Engineering/Mathematics (beneficial).

· 3-5 years of experience in BI development, BI analysis, or data analysis.

· Proficiency in BI tools (Tableau/Power BI), SQL, and data modelling.

· Experience with cloud data warehouse technologies (AWS Athena, Redshift, Snowflake, or similar).
