Role Description:The Group Finance Enablement FIT Business Intelligence Business Analyst is a well-rounded and skilled individual with a mature understanding of Data Management. By understanding and using data, solutions are designed and built to assist stakeholders with producing reports and dashboards that will enable informed business decisions. This role requires a committed, analytical individual with excellent communication skills.
Tasks and ResponsibilitiesBuild trusted relationship with stakeholders
Gather and document data and reporting requirements
Perform data profiling and analysis
Independently or collaboratively design data models to meet business requirement
Produce clear and comprehensive design artefacts such as data flows, source to target mappings, data models, sample reports/dashboards
Build proof-of-concept or mock-ups to illustrate functionality and/or output
Engage with technical team and support development process
Test and monitor testing to ensure quality final delivery
Build output e.g. Power BI reports and/or dashboards
Facilitate implementation, delivery and adoption by stakeholders through training & support
Mentor and manage junior team members
Prepare and present regular progress updates to stakeholders
Follow Data Management best practices, particularly ensuring Data Governance is in place

RequirementsExperience: 5+ years working experience in the BIBA role with warehousing/power BI experience
Qualifications: Degree or Postgraduate degree in Information Systems or related field
Technologies: SQL, PowerBI, Data Warehousing, Tabular cubes, Microsoft Master Data Services, DAX, Exposure to AWS, data lake architecture and json would be advantageous
Methodologies: DAMA, DCAM, Kimball
Advantageous: Experience with Oracle ERP and EPM systems
Advantageous: Analytical and BI experience in Human Capital, Actuarial and/or financial reporting
Understands all Business Intelligence and Information needs of the business. Oversees the specifications and design of reporting toolsResponsibilitiesData Collection and AnalysisConduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
Information and Business AdviceProvide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
Insights and ReportingPrepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
Testing Information Technology (IT) PerformanceDesign and perform website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.
Data ExplorationConduct research and select relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.
Data ManagementManage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues. This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes.
Database SpecificationsContribute to the approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
Operational ComplianceIdentify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
Personal Capability BuildingDevelop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
