Business Intelligence Engineer I, TESS

As a Business Analyst for Transportation Engineering Systems Team, (TESS), you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, automating and managing business models/dashboards using strong quantitative skills. You will also build tools and support structures needed to analyze data, deep dive root causes of operational issues or challenges, drive process improvements, build KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and metrics, and document systems and processes for internal publication. Key job responsibilities - Own the design, development, maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analysis, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. - Writing high quality SQL codes to retrieve and analyze data and experience working with large data sets, automate data extraction, and build monitoring/reporting dashboard - Propose, define and align leaders on the right metrics to track business performance and own end-to-end production of these metrics. - Formulate analytical business problem statements, executing the analysis and presenting insights in crisp business language. - Develop clear communications for recommended actions. Able to communicate complex analysis and insights to our stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing. - Establish new, scalable, efficient, automated processes for tracking and reporting on progress of initiatives. This includes causal analysis on program - launches and its impact on the business. - Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks) - Work with program managers, business owners and leadership impacting critical business initiatives. Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. Basic Qualifications - 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared) - Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R) Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree - Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design - Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
