Amazon Inbound Transportation Business Intelligence is seeking a passionate candidate who can leverage data to deliver actionable insights that impact business decisions and improve the customer experience. Amazon's transportation operations encompass the delivery of shipments from fulfillment centers and third-party locations to customers worldwide. Given the company's focus on faster customer delivery, the successful candidate must be driven to identify and build solutions that will help optimize the transportation network and enhance the customer experience.
This role offers the opportunity to influence and drive a growing business area. The Business Intelligence Engineer will partner with various Amazon Inbound Transportation (AIT) teams to define, develop, and manage the cross-functional strategy for U.S. domestic inbound transportation. They will be accountable for identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement, keeping stakeholders and leadership informed of progress. The BIE will collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, including product managers, program managers, data scientists, software development engineers, and other partner teams across all regions and transportation modes of U.S. domestic inbound.
The BIE will build foundational data pipelines and data tables, analyze large data sets, prove and disprove hypotheses, automate solutions, and create self-service dashboards and reports. This person will consistently employ high judgment, make data-driven decisions, and lead by example, influencing the AIT BI team to do the same.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and lead design and execution of reporting solution for AIT
- Work with product managers, data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to define reporting needs
- Build self-service tools and dashboard that not only gives aggregated metrics but also provide ways to pull granular data for defect verification, customer communication, deep-dives, etc.
- Perform deep-dives and data analysis. Provide recommendation on new metrics or business decision.
- Provide inputs in team and org level strategic planning, lead org/team discussions

Amazon Inbound Transportation (AIT) is responsible for optimizing cost-effective flow throughout Amazon’s inbound network while providing Amazon with greater control, performance, and inbound visibility. The AIT BI team within AIT is responsible for inbound data analytics and engineering support for the AIT org and various stakeholder and partner teams.
