As a Business Intelligence Engineer II for the Rent.com team, you’ll be at the heart and center of our multi-site Rentals business. You’ll work closely with product and marketing leadership to develop metrics, design dashboards, and ensure we have the right views of our business. You’ll draw on a wide variety of data sources, pulling together internal and external data to build beautiful, comprehensive, and insightful reports.

The ideal candidate for this role is a collaborative builder who gets satisfaction from spending the time building the right infrastructure for the company to add long term value and working with peers and stakeholders to design holistic, scalable solutions.

The Role

Work with analysts on the team to develop and deploy suites of interconnected Tableau dashboards helping our business leaders to plan both for the long and short-term.

Identify and evaluate improvements in our Tableau and ETL processes. Support systems used by multiple teams such as Airflow, Tableau Cloud and R Shiny Server.

Partner with Product Management teams to build reports that inform the business and drive strategic data-driven decision making.

Use your technical, artistic, and business expertise to make our operations more analytical, and our analytics more valuable. 

Who You Are

2+ years of Business Intelligence experience

Advanced Tableau skills which includes building complex dashboards from disparate data sources.

Advanced SQL skills which includes creating tables and views that are reusable and adaptable.

Strong experience with ETLs in Python.

Experience with DBT, or similar scheduled data processing technologies is highly preferred.

Ability to spec and build clear, concise, and informative dashboards for multiple types of audiences

Ability to explain complex ideas clearly to a nontechnical audience

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Business Analytics, an experimental science, a related field, or equivalent experience
