Business Intelligence Intern
Job Summary: The Business Intelligence (BI) Intern hones their technical skills in a real-world professional setting at DeCrescente Distributing Company This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the world of business intelligence and data analytics. The BI Intern will assist with gathering, analyzing, and reporting on data that drives business decisions and strategies. + Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. + All employees are held accountable for practicing and promoting a safe and healthy work environment. Essential Functions: + Assist in collecting and processing large datasets from various sources. + Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that contribute to business strategies. + Support the development of data models and dashboards to visualize key metrics and performance indicators. + Create and maintain regular reports for management and end users. + Present data findings in a clear and concise manner using charts, graphs, and other visual aids. + Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in reports and presentations. + Develop proficiency in SQL for querying databases and extracting relevant data. + Utilize BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar software to create interactive dashboards and reports. Required Skills: + Familiarity with BI tools and SQL. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. + Curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques. + Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. + Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving. Education and Experience Requirements: + Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Work Shift Requirements: + Ability to work additional hours, as needed. + Must speak to supervisor to notify him/her any time prior to the beginning of work shift when calling in sick. Voice mail or e-mail messages are not acceptable replacements. + Use and maintenance of company-issued laptop and cell phone. Environment & Physical Demands + Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures + For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, must notify Safety Officer, supervisor, and Human Resources immediately (no later than 1 hour) + Ability to sit for extended periods of time + Possess visual and physical dexterity as required
