Essential Functions:

Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves and processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; and acts as a liaison between employees.
Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work: prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex and problem situations and provide technical expertise; and provides progress updates.
Assists with the issuance of occupational and alcohol licenses; audits applications, payments, and accounts; ensures proper classifications for businesses; directs collection activities; and ensures all related documentation is maintained.
Supervises customer service functions ; provides information and technical assistance pertaining to division services, activities, procedures, fees, forms, or other issues; ensures staff is properly trained to assist the public in completing applications and other forms and to respond to questions/complaints, researching problems, and initiate problem resolution; ensures customers receive appropriate and timely assistance with clearing accounts; and oversees preparation and processing of customer refunds.
Participates in special projects as assigned; researches, compiles and prepares reports; analyzes data and makes recommendations; serves on committees; and submits all mandated reports to regulatory agencies or others as required.
Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws/regulations; maintains an awareness of new trends and advances in the profession; and attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; two years of progressively responsible experience in business license processing, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license
