Business Management Director - Public Sector, Intel

Job Summary:

BDO is seeking a director level professional to oversee financial management efforts for Intelligence Community agencies. The ideal individual in this position will be a subject matter expert providing specialized skills and leadership for specific client-facing engagements. The role will be engaged in Public Sector practice development, client management, and expected to collaborate with firm leadership on an overall approach and direction of the Public Sector practice to ensure consistency with overall firm philosophy.

Job Duties:

Directs the performance of contracted scope with a high-degree of quality  Supervises BDO staff and BDO Team partners to build performance maturity and deliver exceptional results Participates in the development and implementation of strategic plans that promote continuous engagement delivery improvements while sustaining baseline requirements  Contributes to the overall business development approach, plan, and execution for the Public Sector. Develops positioning and go-to-market approach Leverages personal network and reputation to enhance the BDO brand and identify new opportunities Manages overall practice development approach, plan, and execution for the Public Sector practice Directs overall staff development approach to achieve individual and practice professional growth Directs the practice staff to achieve annual and quarterly revenue metrics/goals and objectives to drive increased revenue Evaluates and defines the services the practice will offer to federal agencies Collaborates with Office Business Line Leaders and Human Capital to interview, hire and terminate employees Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Guides and supervises Public Sector staff  Evaluates the performance of Public Sector direct reports and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development for all Public Sector staff Acts as mentor / career advisor to Public Sector management and staff as appropriate Provides professional growth and career advancement opportunities for Public Sector management and staff

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, required Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, preferred

Experience:

Fifteen (15) or more years of experience managing within the professional services domain such as accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or banking, required Ten (10) or more years of experience analyzing and resolving complex accounting issues, conducing federal financial statement audits, and/or preparing federal financial statements, required Experience supervising or managing teams, preferred Experience with business development, preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance, required CPA certification, required Relevant industry certification, such as PMP, CGFM, CISA, or CDFM, preferred

Software:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), required Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), preferred

Ability to support project-related travel as needed Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation and facilitation aptitude Strong business acumen and ability to effectively communicate BDO’s business, marketplace and value proposition Ability to provide business development consultation to partners and managers in pursuit of accomplishing business results Capable of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously and managing a diverse staff to accomplish desired results Able to successfully negotiate contracts while meeting all government regulations
