Job Title: Business Manager
Job Summary:
The Business Manager will work directly with the VP General Manager in achieving/exceeding revenue and profit plan, maintaining and improving morale, retention and productivity. In conjunction with the VP General Manager this position will help develop and execute strategic direction. This position is considered critical for Building Technology Engineers, Inc support to the Account Directors, Account Managers and clients. Ensures pre-approved standards and procedures are developed, delivered, maintained, reviewed and updated, including safety training, safety plan development and oversight, employee technical training, reporting and review to all properties. Maintains and communicates standard practices and codes necessary for all operational conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Serve as BTE’s organizational safety program liaison, working in close collaboration with supporting EFS Safety Manager and broader EFS Safety team. Help to ensure integration and compliance with all EFS program requirements (Training, PTP, Audits, Reporting, Stop Work Authority, Equipment/PPE resourcing) as well as coordination of safety support for BTE employees, managers, and customers
· Provide critical business, administrative, and logistics support for BTE operational leaders (AD, AM), to include processing payroll and billing corrections, weekly timecard consolidation and submissions, PTO validation and management, sick bank management, uniforms, IT equipment and other process support and standardization as appropriate.
· Serve as Account/Operational Manager for EMC, Stop & Shop, and Mobile Field Services (MFS) Team.
· In conjunction with the VP General Manager, this position helps achieve operational and financial performance goals as well as maximizes customer and team satisfaction through implementation of appropriate procedures and policies, capture and communication of lessons learned and best practices, and improved organizational communication and collaboration.
· Support fellow BTE Managers, as able and appropriate, in recruiting, hiring, and on-onboarding. This includes socializing open requisitions across broader BTE/EFS team, using knowledge and network across local labor market to support internal recruiting, identify and escalate organization wide risks and opportunities with EFS or Advantage XPo recruiting support, ensure BTE operational leaders have tools to execute hiring manager responsibilities.
· Principle BTE operational point of contact/liaison for Union Local 3 and Local 537 Employees and for Union leadership. Responsible for general administrative and operational communications, coordination, and non-grievance related issue resolution with Union. Ensures EFS HR is notified of any formal employee issue/grievance immediately.
· Manage BTE’s technical training program to ensure appropriate awareness and access, increased program usage and maximum benefit for technicians and organization. Provide reoccurring program updates, assessments, and recommendations
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Education
Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Business Experience
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in facilities management.
Licenses/Certifications
OSHA 10 hour and/or 30 Hour card required.
BOMA, IFMA, LEED Certifications a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
Technical Qualifications & Skills
Requires use of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Enterprise Software and CMMS required.
