Business Manager

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary.

+ Manage office budget and identify opportunities for office management improvements and new processes.
+ Support General Manager to ensure all areas of the business are operating efficiently and within the vision and culture of the local office.
+ Assist with managing the G&A budget for asset purchases, including office furniture, supplies, repairs and renovations.
+ Ensure quality standards of all administrative processes and procedures to efficiently meet customer needs and support business operations.
+ Conduct monthly balance sheet variance analysis, and work with VP/General Manager and Department leaders on understanding variances.
+ Assist Department leaders in preparing financial reports/metrics for month end deliverables.
+ Ad hoc analysis and projects as needed.
+ Conduct monthly WIP meetings, enter budget revisions in ERP, develop monthly forecast based on WIP Meeting.
+ Perform job cost analysis as needed for Solution projects.
+ Conduct small job review meeting and perform monthly eliminations.
+ Oversee all lines of Service billing including TM, SJ, & SC Billing to ensure prompt invoicing and cost comparison.
+ Lead Collection efforts for all business lines and implement processes to reduce receivables.
+ Manage Coordinator Staff and ensure job entry, billing and job costing is performed throughout the month both timely and accurately to meet the requirements of the financial close schedule.
+ Act as the Division Administrator for ERP Systems AX, Project Service & Field Service.
+ Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.
+ Drive employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
+ Provide support for the field team including supervisors and technicians.
+ Assist with the development and management of the divisional budget.
+ Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies.
+ Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
+ Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
+ Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or a related field (e.g. Management, Business Administration,) with 5+ years relevant work experience in the field or related area that provides the requisite knowledge, skills a,nd abilities for the job.
+ Advanced skills in MS Office.
+ Prior experience supporting construction and field employee groups, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.
+ Commitment to “open door” and comfort with production floor presence and contact with all field employees.
+ Demonstrated ability to coach managers and supervisors to use company practices for maximum effectiveness.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; high-quality document and report preparation.
+ Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.
+ Key leadership competencies in addition to high ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental imperatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Ability to manage and direct a group of workers; ability to supervise, counsel, and mediate; ability to persuade, convince, influence, and train others; ability to advise and interpret the application of policies, procedures, and standards to specific situations; ability to explain, demonstrate and clarify to others within well-established policies, procedures, and standards.
Physical Activities: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, move up and down stairs, use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach, push, pull bend and twist. Read information, often in small print. Enter and locate information on a computer system or communication device. Write documents, reports etc. using a writing instrument (e.g., pencil, pen) or computer. Operate a variety of automated office machines including calculator, copier, computer, telephone, fax machine etc.
Working Conditions: This position is in an office environment with moderate to low noise levels and is typically sedentary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to varying temperatures, work areas that may be slippery and or wet, near equipment and mechanical moving parts. Work indoors for extended periods of time.
Salary Range: $90-$130k/yr.
