Business Objects Developer

Minimum Requirements:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Create and modify high performance Business Intelligence solutions including Business Objects XI software provided through the use of Universe Designer, Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, Crystal and Xcelsius options.

·     Contribute to the analysis and the development of  recommendations for improvements to the reporting process

·         Partner with the LFG Business Intelligence Enterprise Group to ensure successful delivery of the business intelligence solutions and adherence to Best Practices.

·         Development and testing of Business Objects universes and associated reports.

 POSITION REQUIRED SKILLS:

·         BA/BS degree (Computer Science related) with a minimum of five plus years of relevant experience.

·         At least 5 years of experience creating Business Objects Universes, Version R3 or later, demonstrated by the successful deployment of reporting solution with a new data warehouse.

·         At least 5 years of experience with SAP Business Objects Interactive Analysis (Web Intelligence), Crystal Reports, Advanced Analysis (Voyager), Dashboard Designer (Xcelsius).

·         Understanding of Business Objects security, scheduling and distribution strategies, demonstrated by successful implementation of reporting system with report level & report parameter level security,  including security for external users using custom built tables and processes.

·         Excellent SQL skills using RDBMS databases, including Oracle Database 11g and MS SQL 2000, including complex queries, sub-queries and inner and outer join expertise.

·         Experience and advanced understanding of Relational and Data Warehouse DBMS environment, including successful implementation of a new Data Warehouse for a retirement or investment management reporting system.

·         Excellent Knowledge of Daily Defined Contribution/Defined Benefit Plan record-keeping, demonstrated by successful implementation of a retirement reporting environment.

·         Strong analytical skills required in order to solution complex reporting needs from disparate data sources.

·         Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into reporting solution.

·         Strong team player with ability to work both independently and as part of a team across multiple locations, a self-starter with minimal direct supervision.

·         Proven background improving process quality and providing system automation recommendations and strategies to manage solutions and data efficiently.

·         Strong SDLC process knowledge including theWaterfall methodology.

·         Willingness to mentor junior staff including best practices for Crystal/BO reporting.

·         Effective oral and written communication skills.

·         Work in a collaborative setting with other developers, business analysts, and a project management team in a cross location environment.

POSITION PREFERRED SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED):

·     Working knowledge of Autosys 11 including scripts design, dependency management and notification processes.

·         Good understanding of operating procedures of investment products.
