Business Office Clerk/Control I

Works under the supervision of the Manager-Business Office Acute.  The Business Office Clerk/Control is responsible for the first review of claims dropped to the Business Office from Medical Records.  The Business Office Clerk/Control verifies that the claim contains proper demographic information, insurance information as well as Medical Records diagnosis and procedure codes.  The Business Office Clerk/Control also controls the amount of bills that drop to the billing clerks to enhance work-flow and adjusts if necessary due to staffing circumstances.

 

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

 
High School diploma is mandatory
Associate degree in Business Administration or Accounting is very desirable.
Previous clerical experience required (at least one year) or additional education beyond high school.  On-the-job training of 1year required to become competent.
