Business Operations Analyst I - Document Execution

As a Business Operations Analyst I within the Document Execution department you will help to drive and support the legal framework of the Mortgage Lien Release Business. You will independently perform and manage matter intake and administration through resolution, research, reviewing and identifying issues in legal matters, resolving questions submitted from business units, interpreting and implementing applicable policies and procedures, and working closely and directly with Originations, Default, Foreclosure and other business units and counsel in bringing matters to resolution. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

Draft/prepare, reviews, analyzes and recommends revisions to Mortgage documents, engage with third party contacts to ensure accuracy and conform to Investor and Mortgage Guidelines Engage in administration of legal matters based on current work assigned Research and resolve various tax penalty inquiries and mortgage title perfection discrepancies, which require an in-depth knowledge of mortgage documents Ability to read legal terms and conditions and understand their meaning and how it applies to work processes Research various county websites for missing mortgage documentation Review and prepare Mortgage Lien Release documents and initiate execution Manage and reconcile reporting within Lien Release including but not limited to tax penalty and customer reimbursement Review and respond to escalated inquiries Conducting initial legal research, consolidating and providing a summary of the results and/or drafting a preliminary response to allow Mortgage Home Lending associates to make informed decisions relating to the business matter Interfacing directly with business units or third parties – such as participating in meetings on substantive matters and additional follow-up/response Miscellaneous activities, special projects, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, maintaining and enhancing subject matter expertise, and compliance and other training

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

Strong understanding of legal concepts and legal research, able to spot issues and apply resources necessary for matter, and must be able to write in a clear, concise manner Ability to work independently on complex matters and manage the collaborative effort of a group Able to prioritize one’s own and others’ competing assignments, while working in a fast paced environment, and managing to tight timelines, with minimal supervision Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel Organizational Skills Comfortable handling complex legal concepts, spotting important issues, exercising independent judgment, and make preliminary recommendations, all with minimal or no supervision

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

Bachelor's Degree Paralegal certificate or legal assistant degree Extensive experience in banking, mortgage banking, and/or real estate is necessary although, depending on the prior experience, alternatives (such as insurance or other similar industries) could be acceptable depending on relevance of that experience Highly developed writing skills

 

This role is a full-time in office (5 days) role located in Monroe LA. This role does not offer relocation assistance or immigration sponsorship.
