This position is responsible for high-level administrative, human resources, purchasing and compliance functions. As a member of the Student Health leadership team, the Business Operations Manager works to implement Student Health, Student Wellness, and the Division of Student Success strategic goals. Strong candidates will need robust organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures.

General Statement Student Health Services is part of Student Wellness, an integrated care collaborative comprised of Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Health Advancement, Counseling & Psychological Services, and Campus Recreation to serve health and wellbeing needs of MSU Students. This position will work closely with all business associates within Student Wellness.

The Business Operations Manager will be a crucial part of creating and managing the operational infrastructure of Student Health entities within the new Student Wellness Center. The 185,000 square foot facility is home to Student Health Services, Health Advancement, Counseling & Psychological Services, and Campus Recreation to serve the individual and community well-being of MSU students, faculty, and staff. The Business Operations Manager will report to the Director Student Health Services. Duties and Responsibilities Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee business operations for Student Health areas, including, but not limited to: Human Resources: Coordinate new employee recruitment and handle all new hire procedures. Manage Student Health payroll processes, including bi-monthly payroll and employee leave processing/reconciliation. Fiscal Management: Accountable for procurement of goods/services, reviewing/approving transactions, monitor expense, revenue, and receivables, requesting payments, submitting budget transfers, requesting budget changes, reconciling all indexes within the department, and assisting with the management of annual fiscal year budgeting activities. Work closely with Fiscal Shared Services and central finance to ensure Student Health resources are used in accordance with university policies and procedures related to business procedures, purchasing policies and procedures, and travel policies. Maintain product receiving and inventory controls with regular audits in each area.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for effective operations and/or quality control as indicated by accreditation bodies. Maintain knowledge and regular review of all operational systems, automated processes, and technology. Assist with tracking of departmental metrics; providing data to departmental leadership team for informed decision making. Monitor and evaluate the overall student patient experience and associated workflow Ensure HIPAA and FERPA compliance within Student Health Services. Serve as the Student Health Services liaison to Student Wellness Facilities Team – to ensure maintenance and care of all medical equipment and physical plant amenities. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience in a position that provides applicable experience. Strong computer skills, including the ability to use Outlook, Excel, Word and database management and spreadsheet software. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, organizing and prioritizing large volumes of work with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality; attention to detail; while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining replicable, detailed, and accurate operational systems and record keeping processes. Experience in medical, health and/or wellness operations.
