Key Responsibilities
Lead the Finance Center of Excellence (CoE) to identify, design, and implement process improvements and use of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to analyze and ensure adherence to defined standardsIdentify, evaluate, and oversee the deployment of best business processes organizationally, by working with Finance process owners and other key cross-functional leadersContinuously research and stay updated on the latest trends and best practices within their focused area. Disseminate knowledge through training programs, documentation, and workshops to educate others across the organization. Define and maintain consistent standards and guidelines for processes, procedures, and quality within their domain. Provide expert advice and guidance to teams facing challenges related to their area of responsibility. Supports the planning for a sustainable mission advancing future for Critical Access Hospitals to ensure efficient and effective use of Clinician and Staffing resources - people and capital - in alignment with system strategic focus areas and goals.
Partners to establish system Critical Access Hospital business approach to include, but not be limited to, standards for planning, productivity, capital planning, talent acquisition targets, regulatory and legal impacting Critical Access Hospital financial plan.
Performs regular financial analysis, with financial business partners, including establishing targets, forecasting, and trending productivity goals for each fiscal year, and forecasting.
Recognizes and recommends solutions for abnormal patterns in revenue recognition, non-labor expense, and staffing levels including, but not limited to, flexing to demand to avoid ongoing issues, and manages, explains, and identifies methods to control plan variances.
Gains insights from identified variances to identify emerging standards and informs methods to address including, but not limited to, evaluating staffing models, adjusting targets, updating comparators, etc.
Provides and/or coordinates educational and in-service programs that are related to financial and planning functions/projects, and relevant Critical Access Hospital leadership and finance business partner business knowledge development.
Partners with Critical Access Hospital Leadership, human resources, talent acquisition, labor management and other colleagues when needed for relevant business and workforce data, information and development including, but not limited to, providing informed insights as workloads, care delivery and workforce shifts over time.
Directly supervises Critical Access Hospital Business Partner Team to include individual development
Work Experience:
5 or more years of demonstrated experience in providing highly strategic and innovative financial leadership in a healthcare organization. Ability to challenge, negotiate and influence key senior executives. Demonstrated ability to tie financial models to strategic initiatives.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration required. MBA and or MHA preferred.
