Business Performance Analyst
What’s the role?

This role forms part of the Editorial commercial finance team, partnering with the business owners of the editorial cost base of News Corp Australia.

You will support the Head of Commercial Finance and key business stakeholders to deliver an efficient editorial cost base budget supported by standardised and consistently high quality reporting, planning and analysis to provide the necessary financial insight to make informed business decisions.

This role is integral to ensuring editorial investment is aligned with News Corpʼs strategic direction to drive audiences efficiently, delivering long term profitability for the business.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive informed commercial decisions and improve budget management across all expenditure lines.

Provide insightful reporting, analyzing both financial and non-financial data to key stakeholders.

Own and prepare budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial results while explaining variances between actual results, budget, and forecast.

Identify and implement process and efficiency improvements to benefit the business in partnership with stakeholders.

Oversee month-end activities, including journal entries, accruals, and monitoring financial performance to identify risks and opportunities.

Who are you?

CA/CPA qualification is required, with prior experience in a similar role highly regarded.

Strong commercial acumen and professional accounting expertise, with a proven ability to manage financial performance.

Exceptional financial acumen, including cost management experience, and the ability to partner and influence key stakeholders.

Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive outcomes effectively.

A strategic, self-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is resilient in managing competing priorities and deadlines.
