Position Description
The Business Process Analyst is a key member of the commercial operations and compliance team and will report to the Manager of Commercial Operations. This role 1) takes leadership in the development and execution of processes that support strategic decisions, 2) assists with Renewable Identification Number (“RINs”) reporting, dispenser tracking, and compliance with EPA regulations under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), 3) plays a key role in obtaining RINs pathway certification for new Renewable Natural Gas plants, and 4) coordinates data requests for annual and quarterly pathway certification reviews.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Conduct monthly variance analyses, evaluate results and suggest business process improvements.Identifies, develops, and maintains accurate and timely reporting of key business drivers/KPIs.Prepare various reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operational data.Substantiates RINs certification transactions by auditing documents.Complies with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements.Monitor monthly transportation fuel volumes to match with RNG plant production for RINs production and reporting purposes.Assist with required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports required for regulatory purposes.Assist with monitoring and projecting RINs inventoryAssist and provide accounting department with information relating to RINs transactions to counterparties within the EPA Transaction System.Assist with gathering and submitting all necessary documentation for EPA pathway certification for new RNG plants and dispensing plans.Assist with submitting company plans, plant configuration, and regulatory pathway certifications.Assist with coordinating Renewable Natural Gas plant initial Engineering Reviews and take ownership of documentation required for ongoing quarterly and annual audits by EPA contractors and representatives.Monitors industry announcements and business transactions to provide guidance and input to management on critical market timing for RINs sales and planning. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (prefer accounting, economics, or finance)0-5 years of prior experience in accounting, compliance, or financial planning and analysis.
