The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurological Surgery is currently seeking a full time Business Process & Operations Analyst to work in Miami, FL. The Business Process & Operations Analyst provides planning, project management, data analytics and operational support for system wide operational initiatives. Key responsibilities of this role include data analytics, creation of materials/content for executive leadership and overall communications support. This job assists in the development and evaluation of strategic and operational plans and evaluates programs for conformance to the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
+ Performs data analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining.
+ Supports and contributes to business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives.
+ Uses statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making.
+ Mines, processes, and analyzes internal and external data using KPIs, business results, industry sources, competitor intelligence, and customer information.
+ Develops a good understanding of the business's model, objectives, issues, and challenges by interacting and collaborating with users and stakeholders.
+ Assesses and documents business requirements, makes priority recommendations, and advises on business options, risks, and costs.
+ Produces reports and visualizations that provide easy to understand information required for decision making.
+ Researches, analyzes, and recommends changes to business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability.
+ Collects and studies operational and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
+ Develops process documentation and project plans. Creates flowcharts, process maps, and diagrams.
+ Supports cross-functional activities and working sessions during projects' design and implementation phases. Designs and prepares documentation, training materials, and communications supporting new processes.
+ Facilitates or assist with the delivery of training to impacted business units.
+ Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
Department Specific Functions• The business process & operations analyst position will report directly into the Department of Neurosurgery and support departmental initiatives and functions, as well as clinical and administrative leadership within Neurosurgery• Excels in data management, analysis and visualization of clinical and financial data, including patient visit level, surgical case volumes, billing and utilization data; develops innovative reporting tools to help provide transparency for key decision-making• Resourceful in learning new systems and functionalities, including ad-hoc report building and management of work queues within the EHR and Business Intelligence systems• Supports the clinical operation as needed, including working directly with clinicians, liaising with patients, management of concierge programs within the department and responding to in-basket messages• Manages all Press Ganey / Patient Experience data and provides suggestions to leadership on process improvements• Oversees key performance indicators for the department, follows-up as needed with clinical teams to ensure progress is being made towards targets• Develops adhoc reports and works on a tight deadline to support projects, budget processes and leadership deadlines• Summarizes data appropriately for key senior level audiences• Participates in project-based efforts as needed by the leadership team• Updating of on-call schedules for the department in QGENDA and SPOK/SMARTWEB (ONCALL)• Management of Department provider profiles in Kryuus • Management of departmental information including the HUB application• Distribution of provider reports for compliance on encounter completion and closing of in-basket messages• Distribution of missed charge opportunities• Assist and serve as key contact for surplus, IT, Telecomm, CANON and facilities as needed• Responsible for processing reimbursements and reconciling charges when needed• Assist with any other tasks as determined necessary
