The Core Product Operations team resides within eBay’s Product organization and is responsible for:

Leading and driving operational cadences focused on monitoring organizational business performance

Leading key efforts to drive greater transparency of the organization’s health (People, Process, Goals), as well as identifying areas for greater optimization 

Enabling & elevating innovation, growth & employee engagement for the Core Product organization

In this critical role, you will focus on solving complex, high impact problems with data and in collaboration with other functions at eBay, with the ultimate goal of providing needed organizational insights to help inform executive-level decision making.   

This position will support various business activities such as the Weekly Operations Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and other cadences around reporting and metrics. As such,  successful candidates must be able to roll-up their sleeves and work directly with the data models to discern strategic, organizational insights. They will be passionate about their work, meticulous, analytical, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They will be experienced at working with datasets and the technical tools needed to work with them. They will have excellent communication and customer-relationship skills, and be a passionate advocate for their customers to other internal stakeholders. Active collaboration with members of the Core Product Operations team, Finance, and the People team will be crucial to the effective execution of the responsibilities. They will drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, have excellent project-management skills, and be able to communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way.


What You Will Do:

Identify and drive improvement opportunities based on data, stakeholder inputs, while ensuring cross-functional alignment and stakeholder buy-in

Structure and break down complex problems - develop hypotheses, drive analyses, deliver recommendations and facilitate decision-making using key sources of data

Collect, validate, and analyze data required to understand root causes, or key drivers of required results

Determine critical business metrics and build dashboards, scorecards, and other measurement systems. Use innovative problem solving and critical thinking approaches to define solutions

Implement monthly reporting for the Core Product organization, including executive-level dashboards and preferably using automation

Identify and implement opportunities to drive greater data quality and automation in standardized reporting across the organization 

Deliver updates on progress and critical findings, in writing and in presentations, and in preparation for executive dialogues around the organizational health to help inform decision making

Promote, educate and own the change management process to implement solutions

Create and maintain clear, user-friendly process documentation: templates, tools, process maps, and graphical representations. Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of collaborators throughout the organization

What You Will Bring

High emotional intelligence skills and ability to communicate clearly with all different types of levels

Ability to strategically structure and use frameworks to break down complex and/or ambiguous problems into clear steps and/or workstreams, design and conduct analysis, and synthesize insights / findings as inputs to strategic conversations

Proven experience driving strategic cross-functional projects and deliverables, getting alignment with key partners, and influencing without authority

Entrepreneurial self-starter with a bias towards action who can thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

Detailed-oriented and organized with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects

Exceptional follow-through and high level of accountability

Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Track record of completing complex, impactful and sustained improvement projects in a fast-paced environment

Excellent presentation as well as verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate complex topics across all levels

5+ years of business experience

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$144,000 - $216,150

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
