*This position is located in our Cleveland, OH office and is a hybrid role.*
CGI Federal’s Housing Compliance team that partners with a local public housing authority and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist in the provision of affordable housing has an opening for a Claims Processing Specialist.
The successful candidate will work directly with property owners and staff to assist them with renewals of their affordable housing contracts, determining their annual rent adjustments, and monthly payment requests. The candidate will use CGI’s propriety IT systems as well as the Microsoft Office Suite to accomplish day-to-day tasks.

The Claims Processing Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of assisted housing contracts to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required tasks, which includes the following:
• Perform detailed reconciliation of monthly voucher payments to property owners
• Renew expiring Housing Assistance Payments contracts
• Perform annual contract rent adjustments
• Evaluate and approve owner’s claims for reimbursement due to unpaid rent, tenant
damages and vacancies
• Maintain property files and records retention in accordance with HUD and corporate
policy
• Maintain positive relations with owners, residents and their representatives,
neighborhood groups and local governments.
• High School Diploma required but Associate’s degree preferred OR significant relevant
experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• Must have at least 2 years’ experience within claims processing, professional office
business OR corporate environment.
• Professional, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks each with varying deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Desire to work in a team environment.
• Proven ability to accurately and timely complete tasks within the established timelines
and quality standards.
• Proven ability to understand, interpret and apply written policies and procedures.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Learn from past experiences and apply to future circumstances.
• Ability to multi-task, be self-motivated and proactive
Desired:
• 1-3 years of experience performing tasks in a regulatory environment.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $40,800.00 - $74,100.00.
