Role Overview

The Business Product Analyst plays a critical role supporting our NF Commissions Product. This position will collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and how to enhance the overall commissions platform. Key responsibilities include supporting product discovery, performing business process analysis, and improving end-to-end planning. You will also participate in project delivery meetings, collaborate with various stakeholders, and support the creation of delivery roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship management and communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a passion for driving results. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for partnering with business leaders and associates to better understand their business needs and how we can advance the commissions product to support.Support Product Discovery and exploring new opportunities that will improve commission services and advance the commission capabilities leveraging market research, customer insights, and data analysis.Perform business process analysis, opportunity assessment to outline business requirements needed to support delivery of technology changes.Support and help to orchestrate the intake, governance, and prioritization processes across the NF commission product team.Improve end-to-end planning by identifying dependencies & connections across our business units & technologies supporting new business, sales, operations, and commissions services.Participate in project delivery meetings to help to ensure delivery is aligned with business needs and customer expectations.Collaborate, partner and communicate with various business leaders, project/product team members, and align with the Agile Leader, delivery leaders, and the team on delivery.Support creation of delivery roadmaps and help to align expectations with key business & technology stakeholders.

Role Required Skills

Understanding of the NF business & commissions services.  Strong knowledge of our Life and Annuity business units.Strong relationship management & communication skills to align business & technology stakeholders.Critical thinking and strong business analytical skills.Ability to perform complex data analytics and create meaningful insights to inform decisions. Passion for results and helping to drive delivery that enables our product outcomes.Ability to coordinate with business SMEs and Impact Managers to understand business needs and help translate into technology opportunities.Self-motivated and ability to work independently to identify actions needed to deliver goals & objectives.Ability to understand and partner with technology leaders and software engineers.

This will be a hybrid role based out of the Columbus, OH office. The team comes into the office 2 days a week.

As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to inform business outcomes, in addition to providing competitive industry analysis for a product and journey across multiple lines of business.

You will also be a member of the broader product and journey team representing the interests of all business stakeholders. You will be responsible for measuring progress against business outcomes and timelines ensuring the technology solution aligns to the business strategy and delivers expected business benefit measured by adoption of changes. You'll provide key support and insights to the Business Capability Owner, representing the customer point of view while also examining processes and practices to determine how to best support the outcomes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:   

Collaborates with Business Capability Owner on prioritization and develops requirements throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure business objectives and solution vision are being met. 

Conducts competitive analysis on customer, product landscape and business segment specific competitors across multiple lines of business and experiences. Presents findings and recommendations to Business Capability Managers and/or Owners. 

Assesses organizational impact for organizational change management planning. Coordinates communication and training and is accountable for overall business readiness. Provides recommendations to the Business Capability Manager and/or Owner and agile team. 

Keeps up on the latest industry trends as well as customer needs and behaviors. 

Serves as a source of expertise for direction, mentoring and guidance for less experienced analysts. 

Participates in agile ceremonies, daily stand ups, show and tells, iteration planning and retrospectives. 

Partners with Business Capability Manager to define KPIs that measure effectiveness of the product and journey with customers. Works with team to identify areas focus and provides insights to product and journey owner for prioritization. 

Leads and execute design and development on business configurable tools where applicable in support of operational partners. 

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.   

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/AVP. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:   

Education: Bachelors degree in business, IT or related field with advanced degree preferred. 

Experience: Typically, 7 or more years of demonstrated experience delivering initiatives and conducting customer research to inform value-based solutions.  Experience delivering work in an agile environment, leveraging product-centric principles and managing large scale initiatives with multiple dependencies. 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Deep knowledge of insurance industry.   In depth understanding of agile planning practices and customer centric design.    Strong command of verbal and written communication skills in addition to facilitation techniques.  Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information and summarize for consumption by all levels.  Ability to develop recommendations and influence the strategic vision and multi-year product roadmap.  Strong business process design skills and ability to communicate findings in a clear and concise manner.  Ability to work interpedently and manage large, complex tasks that span different subject matters. 

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
