Business Risk Analyst II - Community Banking
Overview:  

Join a fast-paced, dynamic team housed within the Finance division of M&T to assist in the development of the first-line risk functions for the Community Banking division.  The goal of this team is to develop and implement first line of defense risk management initiatives to support the overall Enterprise Risk Framework. These risk pillars include the management and oversight of Operational, Conduct, Reputational, and Compliance Risk.  The team will provide risk management functions over the following key processes, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Community Environmental (Including Low-Income House Tax Credits [LIHTC] and Solar Tax Credits), Government Relations, and the M&T Charitable foundation.

Primary Responsibilities:      Assist in completely and accurately documenting key business unit processes. Identify and assess risks and internal controls associated with these key processes.Assist in the planning, execution and reporting of the business unit's risk-based control testing program. Perform control testing in accordance with M&T's First Line of Defense Guidance on Management of Risks & Internal Controls and professional standards.Specific control and substantive testing responsibilities will involve the planning and execution of testing and evaluation of results to determine if issues exist. Communicate findings to management.  Independently perform scripted testing of controls.Monitor business unit performance with respect to established key risk indicators (KRIs) and assist in the creation of comprehensive KRI reporting.Assist in identify emerging risks and risks associated with new products/ services/ markets/ channels or changes to existing products/ services/ markets/ channels.Assist with the completion of Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and other risk management reporting.Research and assess regulatory requirements impacting the business unit.Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $60,890.34 - $101,483.90 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
