The anticipated salary range for this role is between $190,000.00 and $225,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. Role DescriptionThis role is responsible for overseeing and mitigating risks associated with the Cash Management division’s transformation of their product suite and involves developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies and optimizing the businesses’ risk management framework. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial risk management, transaction banking and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on digital transformation and innovation.
Role Objectives: DeliveryDevelop and implement risk management strategies that align with SMBC Cash Management’s overall objectives and business transformation
Lead the risk management of a new and robust suite of cash management products, (e.g., payments, receivables and channel solutions)
Work collaboratively with partners across various types of risk and compliance within SMBC’s organization, including domestic and global partners (e.g., EMEA and APAC)
Proactively identify operational risks and their potential impacts on the Cash Management division and its business transformation
Strengthen governance and organization for risk oversight, ensuring due diligence and compliance procedures are conducted in line with agreed controls and regulatory requirements
Work closely with various departments, including Risk Management, Compliance, Technology, and Product, as well as stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure effective risk management
Manage relationships with clients and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with performance metrics and contractual obligations
Ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and transaction monitoring regulations, including NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines
Identify gaps in risk reporting quality and improve the synthesis and practicality of reports for supervisory committees
Qualifications and SkillsRecommended years of experience: 10
Extensive experience in financial services, banking risk, financial crime prevention, AML, KYC, and transaction monitoring, as well as in-depth understanding of international and local regulatory frameworks relevant to the cash management landscape
Strong knowledge of payments, credit, and controls risks
Strong leadership and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing risk assessments and compliance documentation, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to changing regulatory landscapes and business environments, with a proactive approach to learning and development
