Job Description SummaryContributing team member of the Personnel Security (PERSEC) team, supporting a variety of personnel security tasks related to 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM Rule) and DoDM 5205.07 within the Industrial Security Operations (ISO) team. Responsibilities include daily operational tasks associated with the scope of DoD personnel security clearances, program access requests, assisting with security education, and contributing in program specific projects related to the NISP and other regulatory guidance.

Role Overview

The Personnel Security (PERSEC) Specialist will assist in ensuring compliance with government regulatory requirements related to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). This on-site role involves handling the security clearance process, assisting with security reviews, and maintaining security databases.ResponsibilitiesContribute to the PERSEC team by ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).Utilize basic knowledge of government databases, including DISS, NBIS, e-APP, JADE, and SWFT.Initiate, review, and release applicant clearance and program access paperwork.Assist with security reviews, including Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) site visits, customer visits, and formal self-inspections.Review and verify employee security clearance eligibility and access levels.Use company security databases and other tools to track personnel security processes throughout the life cycle of an individual's security clearance.

The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills, dedicated to ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations. You thrive in a supportive, team-oriented environment and are proactive in maintaining security processes.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, OR a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of personnel security experience.Must possess an active Secret clearance.
