The Faculty of Arts and Sciences are the largest academic unit at Rutgers–Camden, delivering a wide array of degree programs at the baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels in the humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, and fine arts. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences includes three schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, University College, and the Graduate School. Posting Summary Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a Business Specialist in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. This position reports to the Business Manager of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University–Camden. Responsible for a broad range of business and administrative activities including fiscal management, budget, accounting, financial reporting, and analyses. Supports financial planning and administration for multiple departments, programs, and initiatives. Responsible for developing financial models, preparing analyses and annual budgets, and monitoring operating funds to support financial operations and strategic planning efforts. Assists Business Manager in achieving financial objectives and reporting goals. Manages and analyzes data and prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for internal and external purposes for key units within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, including, but not limited to departments, programs, centers, grant accounts, and offices.
Prepares and/or approves journal entries, reconciliations, requisitions, purchase orders, expense reports, payroll and cash transmittals as assigned by Business Manager. Works with Business Manager to accomplish year-end plans and executes transactions to maximize available resources. Provides guidance on improvement of internal processes.
Ensures consistent reporting and adherence to federal and state financial reporting regulations and guidelines in conformity with University’s policies and procedures. Must be able to work as a team player with colleagues within the Business Office to ensure uniformity as it relates to reconciliations, processes, and procedures. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date.
