Description:
The Summer Business Strategic Intern role will provide a diverse introduction to working at a global consumer packaged goods company. The intern will be part of the Sales Strategy & Commercialization Team, the backbone of our National Sales Team. They will support key stakeholders across multiple teams through business analytics, syndicated data sets, field level observation, systems management, and new thought creation. Along with the day-to-day responsibilities, the Summer Business Strategy Intern will prepare and present a summer-long, strategic project—deliverable to the senior executive team—focused on market opportunities in a particular area of interest to the Cooperative. The intern will have the opportunity to conduct a project on topics including (but not limited to): Domestic Retail, Foodservice, Consumer Shopping Trends, and In-Store Promotional analysis across channels such as Global E-Commerce, Military, Convenience and Gas, and Colleges and Universities. This project will allow the Summer Business Strategic Intern to gain cross-functional experience and exposure, while becoming an expert on an area of key interest to the Cooperative and will serve as key member of a multifaceted team in a top-notch CPG company.
As a Summer Business Strategy Intern, you will be exposed to and tasked to provide analysis of the following concepts:
Opportunity Sizing (customer & channel) and Strategic Business Development Analysis
Beverage & Foods Competitive Landscape Analysis
In-Store Promotion Planning and Sell in Support
Sales and Financial Forecasting
New Product Innovation Tracking
Utilizing various syndicated data sources to provide consumer insights
International Business Development & Consumer Awareness
In addition to core responsibilities, each summer intern will be exposed to several Cooperative-wide training modules covering topics such as R&D, Quality, Ag/ Grower Relations, Sales, and Finance.
Interns are assigned objectives that support key business initiatives and are provided an outline of the deliverables and measurable results expected. Feedback against these objectives is provided mid-way through and upon completion of the internship. At the end of the summer, the Summer Business Strategy Intern will have a diverse understanding of the complexities of working at a growing CPG company.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Ability requirements
Must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s Program
Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Duration & Location
Position will start on June 3rd, 2025 and run through August 21st, 2025
Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:45pm, Friday 8:00am – 12:30pm
Hybrid work policy: Tuesday – Thursday in the office. Friday & Monday remote
Position is located at our corporate headquarters in Boston/Lakeville, MA
