About the Role:

As a Business Support Specialist, you play a pivotal role in supporting our business end users by ensuring the quality and effectiveness of Oracle CCS, a comprehensive customer care, metering, and billing solution. You will lead and manage the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to validate that system operations meet business requirements and user expectations. The role leverages market and technological expertise to guide the creation of detailed user test plans, execute rigorous testing scenarios, and document results to support the delivery of a high-quality utility billing solution that complies with industry regulations and standards.

 

What You Get to Do:

Oversee and manage the end-to-end UAT process, including planning, execution, tracking defects, and reporting  Ensure that all testing activities are aligned with business requirements and project timelines, and all outcomes meet the regulatory requirements of applicable Alberta Utilities Commission rules and regulations  Troubleshoot functional system and reporting issues, gather business requirements, develop workflows, document processes, and provide functional and technical support to users  Perform quality assurance on UAT scenarios and test results  Participate in post-production validation, leading up to and including deployment and beyond Liaise with the business to analyze complex business requirements and lead the implementation of solutions that meet all requirements  Continuously evaluate and improve UAT processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness Conduct incident management and root cause analysis investigations to develop solutions and recommend system improvements Review existing configuration and business processes for efficiency and effectiveness and make suggestions for business processes and operational improvements Provide expertise in the effective operation and use of the billing application. Evaluate and prioritize enhancements with the business Document, validate and maintain CCS documentation as changes and enhancements are implemented

 

What You Bring: 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology or related field; related diploma with relevant work experience may be considered Minimum 3 years’ experience in a functional, system and/or business analyst role  Minimum 2 years’ experience in developing test scripts and the UAT of applications (preferred Oracle cloud or on-premises applications), using testing best practices and standards  Good understanding of the electric utility industry and relevant regulatory requirements, including market rules, tariff billing, and Alberta’s deregulated energy market  Familiarity with Oracle (CCS, C2M or CC&B) or another cloud-based billing system would be an asset Must possess a unique blend of high analytical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to clearly and practically convey complex technical information Superior organizational and time management skills to manage numerous projects and competing demands Demonstrated ability to provide training and guidance to coworkers Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proven ability to take initiative and work independently Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service Experience with Agile project management methodologies; project management experience considered an asset
