**Job Title: Technical Business Analyst** **Location:** San Diego, California (Hybrid) **Position Type:** Full-Time **About the Organization:** Our client, a renowned higher education institution in the San Diego area, is seeking a talented Technical Business Analyst to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of CA community colleges, technical expertise, and an understanding of business system analysis processes. This position plays a critical role in improving and optimizing the institution’s systems to enhance overall operational efficiency. **Key Responsibilities:** + Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and system users to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements. + Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and system specifications for higher education environments, particularly within California community colleges. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving systems and processes. + Perform technical system analysis, ensuring the integration and optimization of systems in accordance with institutional needs. + Support basic Business Systems Analyst (BSA) duties including requirement gathering, system testing, and implementation. + Develop functional specifications, user stories, and use cases to facilitate technical and business needs alignment. + Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system issues, ensuring that solutions are both timely and effective. + Conduct system and user acceptance testing to ensure the quality and usability of implemented solutions. + Prepare reports, dashboards, and other documentation for tracking project progress and performance metrics. + Stay current with industry best practices, technology trends, and changes within the California community college system. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). + Strong knowledge of the operations, systems, and regulations within California Community Colleges. + Proven experience in business systems analysis and working with technical teams to implement solutions. + Familiarity with software and systems commonly used in higher education institutions. + Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. + Experience with technical tools, business analysis techniques, and project management practices. + Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. + Previous experience in an educational or public-sector setting is a plus. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, student information systems (SIS), and/or learning management systems (LMS). + Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) or related technical certifications. + Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
