The AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation necessary for our treatments to positively impact patients’ lives. In the role of Business Systems Lead you’ll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills. The Clinical Business Systems Lead is responsible for working with Clinical Development Operations lines of business, and teams to understand business needs for operational data, technology, data migrations/ingestion and data visualization. This will include defining business and functional requirements, evaluating solution alternatives, and developing detailed implementation plans outlining cost, schedule and ongoing operations for solution delivery. This role will actively collaborate with our business and 3rd party partners on planning, design, development, testing and deployment of solutions through specialized technical and business process expertise. This role will also determine ways of leveraging existing solutions for new opportunities, continually seeking ways to optimize business processes and ongoing operations. In this role you will be responsible for: + Understanding the Clinical Development Operations business team’s vision, goals and strategies related to operational delivery while managing required changes effectively and promoting innovation. + Identifying Clinical operations client’s business needs and requirements, proposing and implementing appropriate solutions, and resolving operational issues in an timely manner. + Leading Clinical Trial Management (CTMS) data acquisition/integration for partnership studies, acquisitions, divestitures, and outsourced studies. + Coordinating with all 3rd party providers (CRO’s, vendors, partner companies, etc.) on design, data mapping, data transmission, and ongoing oversight of data transmission. + Coordinating with internal teams (Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Architecture, etc.) for the development of data integrations to support 3rd party CTMS data ingestion that are aligned to BTS standards. + Testing for data integrations features and functionality before full implementation. + Maintaining documentation related to the CTMS data integration and data feed processes and standards. + Management and maintenance of data integrations, ensuring availability, data completeness, quality control, and alignment to business operations. + Augmenting current CTMS platform team on solution discovery, estimation, planning and delivery when possible. + Continuously identify opportunities for process/solution improvements. + Overseeing and ensuring that resources are available to meet the daily operational demands of the area. + Establishing and maintaining high-quality relationships with all levels across the Clinical Development Operations business and with external vendor partners. + Complying with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Qualifications Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role: Required: + Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience, PhD 2 years’ experience in business information systems, or a discipline closely related to the client area served. + Proven experience with implementation, configuration, and operations of Clinical Operations solutions. + CTMS data / operational expert, with knowledge of study management. + Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills. + Must be able to effectively lead and facilitate meetings with customers and technical team members. + Must be deliverable focused and detail oriented. + Must exhibit exceptional teamwork skills. + Must have a strong customer focus. + Demonstrated experience with M&A and clinical data migration activities Why Business Technology Solutions: For anyone who wants to use technology and data to make a difference in people’s lives, shape the digital transformation of a leading biopharmaceutical company, and secure sustainable career growth within a diverse, global team: we’re ready for you.
