Role Description:
Arcadis is seeking a Business Unit Director (BUD) to lead our Canada Mobility – Mobility Advisory (Transportation Planning) Division. This role can be based in any of our Canadian offices and reports to the Business Area Director.
As the BUD, you will lead the development of Arcadis Canada's Mobility Advisory business and support the global Mobility Advisory Strategy. You will drive business development, brand growth, and enhance advisory capabilities while managing P&L to achieve revenue growth and EBITA levels above 15%. This role involves active leadership, technical guidance, and promoting both local and global business cultures. You will collaborate with global Mobility Advisory leads and contribute to Service Expert Groups.
Role Accountabilities:
Strategy Implementation: Lead the business unit with full P&L accountability. Develop and implement strategies to ensure service excellence, growth, and profitability. Business Development: Build relationships with clients (e.g., Transportation Authorities, Private Operators, Developers), ensuring satisfaction and driving organic revenue growth. Market Proposition: Lead development of key services, such as Project Assessments, Multimodal Studies, and New Mobility Advisory. Drive market presence through insight-led marketing. Team Leadership: Manage a diverse team, set objectives, and develop talent. Foster collaboration across Arcadis teams, locally and globally, to maximize opportunities and eliminate silos. Resource Management: Ensure optimal resource utilization and maintain team structure integrity. Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and manage project risks, ensuring governance and client satisfaction. Development: Leading the development of the most relevant market propositions around the focus services for Mobility Advisory including Project Assessments, Master Planning Services, Multimodal Corridor Studies, Efficiency and Improvement services, Transportation Planning and New Mobility Advisory Collaboration: Working with the Business Area Director for Mobility Canada, as well as other business leads to develop and implement the long-term strategy for the development of the Arcadis Canda Mobility BusinessRequired Qualifications:
20+ years of experience leading and growing a business unit within a professional services firm, including team leadership and revenue growth. Bachelor’s degree in Mobility Advisory or Professional Engineering license in Canada. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Technical expertise to manage design-led business risks and sound commercial acumen.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading client-side consultancy commissions in Technical Advisory/Management Consultancy. Strong commercial skills, including contractual knowledge and responsibility for major projects. Experience leading diverse, large teams across different cultures.Why Arcadis?
