Business Unit Manager (Training Solutions)

Our Training Solutions business encompasses a comprehensive training portfolio of services for industry and academia delivering on the skills agenda for future needs. The Training Solutions business’ foundation is SITRAIN, consisting of a wide portfolio of training courses and also includes HE engagement through our Connected Curriculum and Apprenticeship Services as a Main Provider. These programmes equip industry professionals, academics, and apprentices with the skills and expertise needed to excel in a constantly evolving technological landscape!

As the Business Unit Manager, you will lead a dynamic team to drive growth, innovation, and excellence across this prestigious and critical business unit. This role offers hybrid working, and will be based in Manchester 2-3 days per week.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop a comprehensive business strategy for the SITRAIN, Connected Curriculum and Apprenticeship Services portfolio to achieve growth, revenue, and profitability targets.Define and implement a vision for training solutions that align with Siemens’ broader Digital Industries objectives and evolving market needs.Identify emerging trends and technologies to keep training offerings at the cutting edge of industrial and educational demands.Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial performance of the Training Solutions business unit.Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Siemens’ internal policies.Drive sales and business growth by identifying and securing new market opportunities for training and apprenticeship offerings.Nurture positive relationships with industry partners, academic institutions, and government bodies to enhance market penetration and brand recognition.Represent Siemens Training Solutions at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to promote the SITRAIN brand.Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of training professionals, coaches and business development personnel and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Collect and analyse customer feedback to inform ongoing improvements and innovations.Skills and ExperienceProven experience in managing a business unit or leading a training/learning solutions business, preferably within the industrial or technology sectors.Strong commercial experience with a track record of achieving revenue and profit targets.Demonstrable expertise in strategy development, operational management, and team leadership.Knowledge of industrial automation, digitalisation, and emerging technologies.Excellent relationship-building skills, strong communication and presentation abilities.Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.Passion for skills development, lifelong learning, and encouraging industry-academic collaboration.
