Purchasing responsibility for Reading Mill within our North American Paper organization.

Purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. 

Key Responsibilities

Purchase goods, material, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations. Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible. Deliver briefs, updates, and reports whenever needed. Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work towards continuous improvement. Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance. Ensure compliance to company guidelines and purchasing policies. Assess quotations and bid proposals from potential suppliers. Work with our suppliers and accounts payable to help resolve invoice discrepancies where needed. Ensure progress is being made toward meeting purchasing key performance indicators. Utilize critical thinking to resolve problems. 

Relationship Management

Work collaboratively and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, initiatives, and supply changes. Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal, and influencing skills. Results oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines. Bachelor’s Degree Ability to analyze data to develop meaningful, actionable recommendations.
