Job description :

A Montreal-based manufacturing company is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Buyer to join their team. As a Manufacturing Buyer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing the raw materials and components required for our manufacturing process. Your ability to negotiate effectively, manage supplier relationships and maintain a stable and profitable supply will be essential to the success of our business.


Responsibilities :


Supplier Management:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on criteria of quality, price, delivery time and production capacity. Negotiate purchasing terms and conditions to obtain the best terms for the company. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and sustainable supply.

Purchasing planning:

Collaborate with production and planning departments to understand raw material and component requirements. Develop strategic sourcing plans, taking into account demand forecasts and stock levels.

Cost optimization:

Monitor market prices and identify potential savings opportunities. Implement purchasing initiatives to reduce costs without compromising quality or reliability of supply.

Contract management:

Monitor purchasing contracts and ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions. Periodically assess supplier performance and take corrective action where necessary.

Strategic watch:

Keep abreast of market trends and technological developments in the manufacturing sector. Propose continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and purchasing management.

Skills and qualifications :

University degree in operations management, Supply Chain or related field. A minimum of 3 years' previous experience in a similar role in the manufacturing sector. Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to achieve favorable results. Strong analytical skills and ability to work with figures. Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
