Job Title: BuyerJob Description The Central Ordering Material Planner/Buyer oversees the complex part supply chain for North American Plant Domestic Supply Part Supply (DSPS) part ordering. The role ensures that DSPS order requirements are met daily, tracks open orders to closure, plans future orders with sufficient lead time, and ensures late orders are delivered with effective countermeasures. The Buyer maintains process-related systems for suppliers and parts, manages material releases, service parts, and inventory levels to support warehouse packing operations and plant production. Establishing and maintaining communication networks with the supply base is crucial to promote positive relationships focused on delivery performance. The role involves identifying gaps, developing countermeasures to mitigate risks, and escalating critical issues to management to ensure timely resource allocation. The Buyer collaborates with various departments to support Mass Production projects, meets Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets by mitigating risks, and manages design change activity to minimize production impact and costs. The position involves conducting root cause analysis and implementing countermeasures through Gemba activities, both internally and externally. Continuous improvement is a key focus, utilizing the Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) cycle to ensure associate success. The role also involves developing the capabilities of self and colleagues through training, mentoring, and sharing experiences for team growth and succession planning. The Buyer supports the company vision and business plan by leading and supporting project initiatives within the core job function. Hard Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management OR equivalent related experience + Knowledge of basic inventory management and manufacturing workflow + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Soft Skills + Strong communication and interpersonal skills + Strong organizational skills + Ability to prioritize tasks and work with limited direction + Ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a team-based work environment + Consistently identify opportunities for continuous improvement + Collect data and apply business knowledge to solve a range of problems + Effectively lead project themes + Effectively sell ideas, securing buy-in from individuals or team Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s). Work Site This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Marysville, Ohio and some days remote. Work Environment Remote work is 20-40%, on-site is 60-80%. Remote work is available after a minimum of 6 months of training. Hours/Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 - 4:00 (start/end time flexible). 5-10 hours of overtime per week expected (overtime is paid out at 1.5x).
