1. Manages day to day purchasing processes within the assigned areas, including purchase order (PO) creation, PO transition, backorder management, invoice matching and buyer messages.
2. Reviews and routinely processes daily, weekly and monthly reports. Adjusts and communicates any changes or delays in a timely manner.
3. Work with MMIS to request item master data as it pertains to part numbers, UOM and pricing changes.
4. Coordinates delivery schedules as appropriate and searches alternatives to backordered items.
5. Expedites orders to keep open orders to a minimum.
6. Ensures utilization of contracted GPO and local pricing agreements when managing PO transmissions.
7. Support the overall goals of the Purchasing department and Lurie Children’s in supply chain automation and consolidation programs utilizing various tools including Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), EDI management, and Microsoft Office based tools.
8. Ensures timely deliveries to meet customer demand while maintaining fiscal budget integrity. Manage supply and equipment samples and evaluations with the customer departments. Assists departments with the return or repair of necessary merchandise or equipment.
9. Support the medical supply and equipment recall program for the Medical Center by participation and utilization of the ECRI system as needed.
10. Promotes quality service through problem-solving skills that foster positive communication and interpersonal relationships with medical center staff.
11. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
12. Other job functions as assigned.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred. Minimum of five to seven years of progressive relevant experience.
A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience is directly related to the functions of the job.
Ability to comprehend data logic and data processes. Ability to employ problem solving skills effectively.
Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft windows OS and applications.
Required: Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to patient health information (PHI) or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Preferred:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Infor-Lawson or WorkDay procurement functioanlity. Experience in healthcare preferred.
Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) product knowledge.
Medicare/Medicaid knowledge.
Must be able to prioritize, organize and assess work in order to meet aggressive deadlines and cope in fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate facts and ideas clearly and concisely.
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and clearly articulate potential solutions.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Capable of working in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and interacting with all levels of the organization.
